IIT Kanpur observes the annual day of the institute’s cell for differently abled person

IIT Kanpur: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur commemorated the annual day of the institute’s cell for differently-abled persons (CDAP) on January 13, 2024. The event emphasised the importance of the international day of persons with disabilities. The purpose of the event was to highlight the usage of sign language, used to communicate with mute and deaf people.

S Ganesh, director of IIT Kanpur, provided information about the CDAP’s transformative impact on campus and innovative ideas for increasing the inclusion of people with disabilities.

The yearly day of the Foundation’s CDAP exhibits the organization’s obligation to empowering variety and establishing a steady climate for individuals with different capacities.

Siddhartha Panda, a chemistry professor at IIT Kanpur, presented his novel haptic smartwatch and braille learning device, which was made to empower students who are partially blind or visually impaired. This was trailed by experiences from Ashutosh Modi, teacher of branch of software engineering and designing, who talked about his forthcoming undertaking investigating the utilization of man-made consciousness and AI to upgrade communication via gestures cognizance and translation.

The occasion resounded with social exhibitions like an inspirational sonnet by a youthful understudy, an elevating melody by a MTech understudy, and a play introduced by youngsters from the Ambedkar Establishment. The exhibitions displayed the ability and versatility of people with handicaps, showing the force of imaginative articulation.

Facilitator of CDAP, Kaushik Bhattacharya, director of the understudy’s position office, IIT Kanpur, Raju Kumar Gupta, and complaint redressal official, Sandeep Singh, were available at the occasion.
