IIT Delhi drops one set of mid-semester exams to reduce student stress

IIT Delhi : The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi, has redone its assessment framework and dropped a bunch of mid-semester tests to decrease understudies’ pressure, as per organization chief Rangan Banerjee.

The choice comes against the background of a few instances of understudy suicides across IITs which has ignited a discussion about whether the educational plan and the thorough review plan are influencing the emotional wellness of understudies.

“Prior we used to have two arrangements of tests during a semester, last, most important tests toward the finish of every semester and a few nonstop assessment components. We directed an inside overview and in light of criticism from all understudies and staff, we have chosen to drop one bunch of tests. Thus, presently there will be two arrangements of tests other than routine assessments,” Banerjee said.

“We felt that the test schedule was excessively pressed and subsequently chose to decrease understudy weight and stress. The choice has additionally been endorsed by the Senate and will be executed from the continuous semester. A greatest cap of 80% weightage has been saved for the two assessments,” he added.
