IIM CAT 2024 : The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta has closed the registration process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 on September 20. Admit cards for the exam are expected to be released on November 5, and the test will be conducted on November 24 at 170 locations. Candidates can check the exam details on the official website at at iimcat.ac.in.

The CAT 2024 exam will be conducted for 120 minutes and will comprise three sections — Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability. Candidates will have 40 minutes for each section and will not be permitted to switch between sections while answering questions.

To be eligible to apply for the CAT exam, candidates must have a minimum of 50 per cent marks or an equivalent CGPA in graduation. For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Persons with Disability (PwD), the eligibility criterion is set at 45 per cent of the total marks.

As per regulatory standards, 15 per cent of the seats are reserved for candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), while 7.5 per cent are allocated for Scheduled Tribes (ST). Additionally, 27 per cent of the seats are designated for candidates from Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer or NC-OBC). For candidates from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), up to 10 per cent of the seats are set aside.
