IIM Ahmedabad Signs MoU With UAE Govt To Launch Dubai Campus

IIM Ahmedabad :The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to establish a new campus in Dubai, reported IANS. The IIMA Dubai campus will be located within the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) and the first programme will commence on September 2025.

The formal agreement was exchanged between Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIMA, and His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. The exchange ceremony took place in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE; and Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry.

“The IIMA Dubai campus represents a major milestone in our journey towards becoming a globally recognised management institution. With Dubai’s dynamic business environment and world-class infrastructure, we aim to nurture leaders who can thrive in complex global markets,” Professor Bhasker said.

The first programme to be launched at the Dubai campus will be a full-time one-year MBA, designed only for working professionals and entrepreneurs. The programme will include five academic terms featuring academic training, skill enhancement, and international exposure.

On September 3, 2024, IIT-Delhi launched its first overseas campus in Abu Dhabi which was also the first international campus by an IIT. The first programme to be launched was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, and Energy Engineering at the institute with 52 students onboard.

The foundation of IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi was formalised through an agreement between the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, IIT Delhi, and India’s Ministry of Education, witnessed by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2023.
