ICAI: The 75th Chartered Accountants’ Day was celebrated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on July 1 at the Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, graced the occasion as the esteemed chief guest.

During the event, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) also unveiled its new CA curriculum. According to a press statement by ICAI, the revamped curriculum will introduce a series of new courses in 2023, followed by corresponding examinations in 2024.

In her address to the CA Fraternity, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the crucial role that Chartered Accountants play in economic governance. She commended the dedication and hard work displayed by these exceptional professionals on their journey to becoming CAs.

President Murmu also expressed her delight at the increasing percentage of women pursuing the CA profession, acknowledging their prudence and financial acumen, which are particularly valuable in challenging times. She appreciated the ICAI’s financial and tax literacy initiative, highlighting the Institute’s commitment to assisting and supporting those who have been deceived or exploited, especially vulnerable individuals, in their pursuit of justice.

Rao Inderjit Singh, the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, attended the event as the Guest of Honour. In his speech, he emphasized the pivotal role played by the ICAI and its members in driving the growth and success of the corporate sector in India. Singh acknowledged the diligent efforts of CAs in the successful implementation of GST, contributing to the nation’s growth and development.

He praised the ICAI’s proactive approach and commitment to excellence, commending the newly launched course that equips professionals with the necessary skills to embrace emerging opportunities. Singh highlighted the Institute’s consistent efforts to stay ahead of the curve and ensure that its members are well-prepared to navigate the changing landscape.
