Himachal Pradesh govt introduces bill to regulate appointment of VCs in 2 state universities

Himachal Pradesh govt: The Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday introduced a bill in the assembly which seeks to empower it to “aid and advise” the governor in the appointment of vice chancellors in two agriculture and horticulture universities in the state.

The proposed regulation – – The Himachal Pradesh Colleges of Farming, Cultivation and Ranger service (Alteration) Bill, 2023 – – will be relevant to Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Krishi Vishvavidyalay, Palampur and Dr YS Parmar College of Agriculture and Ranger service, Solan.

There was no immediate job of government in arrangement of bad habit chancellors in the two colleges and existing arrangements in regards to determination of VCs were prohibitive and didn’t permit a vote based government to practice its more right than wrong to shape the establishments of higher learning, the “Proclamation of Items and Reasons” of the bill said.

As of now, the VCs are delegated by the lead representative who is likewise the chancellor of the state-run colleges on the suggestion of the choice board of trustees comprising of a candidate of the lead representative, executive of the Indian Chamber of Farming Exploration and director of the College Awards Commission or his chosen one.
