GITAM launches Andhra Pradesh’s first technology-enabling centre

At its Visakhapatnam campus, the GITAM has established the first technology-enabling center in Andhra Pradesh. Technology mining, technology readiness assessment, technology development under the direction of expert panels, technology transfer to industries, market report generation, and capacity-building initiatives will all be carried out by the GITAM-Technology enabling center, or G-TEC.

The considered to-be college has likewise been allowed Rs 3.28 crore from the Division of Science and Innovation, service of science and innovation.

According to a statement from GITAM, the project aims to create an enabling ecosystem for faculty innovators and MSMEs in the southern state and bridge the gap between industry and academia.

Raja P. Pappu, coordinator-G-TEC, Director, Research and Development, GITAM (Deemed to be University), stated, “G-TEC will work to network researchers with institutes, national laboratories, and industry to create an ecosystem for technology development and technology transfer.” The scholarly community is the base for information age. However, academic institutions in India lack effective institutional mechanisms to convert R&D output into technological wealth.

He continued, “We envision a future where innovation flourishes, bottlenecks are overcome, and India, along with Andhra Pradesh, emerges as a global leader in the realm of research and development” through the GITAM Technology Enabling Centre.
