GATE 2025: Prayagraj Exam Centres Changed Due To Mahakumbh, Fresh Admit Cards Issued

GATE 2025 : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has released fresh admit cards for the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2025 for candidates whose exam centres were changed from Prayagraj to Lucknow. The hall tickets are now available for download from the GOAPS portal — goaps.iitr.ac.in/login.

“GATE-2025 exam centres changed to Lucknow for candidates who were earlier allotted Prayagraj for 15th and 16th February 2025 amid Mahakumbh. The candidates are advised to download the freshly released admit cards from the GOAPS portal (https://goaps.iitr.ac.in/login),” reads the official notice.

GATE 2025 is being conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode for three hours. It is being held in two shifts — the first shift from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the second shift from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

GATE Admit Card 2025: Steps To Download

Step 1: Visit the official website of GATE IIT Roorkee, gate2025.iitr.ac

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the ‘GATE 2025 Admit Card’ link

Step 3: On the newly opened page, enter your login credentials like registration number and password

Step 4: Click on the submit button and your GATE 2025 hall ticket will appear on the screen

Step 5: Download the GATE 2025 admit card and take a printout for the exam day

The total marks for each paper is 100 marks. The General Aptitude section consists of 15 marks and the remaining 85 marks have been allotted to the core papers. The marking scheme includes negative marks for wrong answers in the Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) section. However, there will be no negative marks for incorrect answers in Multiple-Select or Numerical Answer Type questions.

GATE is a national-level exam used to evaluate applicants for admission to master’s and doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, science, architecture, and humanities as well as for employment with certain public sector organisations. The exam will be administered on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs, including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee.
