Election Commission of India Celebrates Indian National Voters Day with Voter Education and Outreach Programs

“National Voters Day” New Delhi, India – January 25th marks an important day in India’s democratic history as the nation celebrates Indian National Voters Day. The day is celebrated to mark the foundation of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and to encourage and educate eligible citizens to participate in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote.

The theme of this year’s National Voters Day is “Empowering young and future voters”, which highlights the importance of encouraging young people to participate in the electoral process. The ECI is making efforts to increase voter turnout, particularly among young people, by providing voter education and outreach programs.

The ECI is utilizing various digital platforms such as social media, virtual events, and other digital platforms to reach out to the youth. The commission also plans to conduct interactive sessions with new voters to provide them with information about the electoral process and answer any questions they may have.

“We are committed to ensuring that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote,” said Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora. “Our voter education and outreach programs are designed to empower young people and future voters to participate in the electoral process and shape the future of our country.”

In addition to voter education programs, the ECI also distributes voter ID cards to new voters on National Voters Day. This is an opportunity for citizens who have recently turned 18 or have moved to a new location to register as voters and receive their voter ID cards. The voter ID card serves as an important document that allows citizens to participate in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote.

National Voters Day is celebrated in all states and union territories of India by the Election Commission of India. The day is celebrated with various activities such as voter registration drives, awareness campaigns, and competitions for students. These activities are aimed at educating citizens about the importance of voting and encouraging them to participate in the electoral process.

In conclusion, Indian National Voters Day is an important event that celebrates democracy and empowerment. The ECI’s voter education and outreach programs serve as a reminder of the importance of every citizen’s right to vote and the role of citizens in shaping the future of our country. It is important that citizens are informed and educated about the electoral process and their rights as voters to ensure a fair and democratic process.
