What is General Physics and what is its importance in life

Physics is the natural science that studies matter, its motion, and behavior through space and time, and that studies the related entities of energy and force. Physics is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines, and its main goal is to understand how the universe behaves.

Physics is considered one of the oldest academic disciplines and, through its inclusion of astronomy, is one of the oldest sciences. Over the last two millennia, physics was a part of natural philosophy along with chemistry, biology, and certain branches of mathematics, but during the Scientific Revolution in the 17th century, the natural sciences emerged as unique research programs in their own right. In the 19th and 20th centuries, physics was one of the central pillars of scientific research, playing a leading role in the development of science and technology. The importance of physics in our daily lives cannot be understated. From the technologies we use, to the way we conduct our lives, physics is a pervasive and omnipresent force. Even our most mundane daily activities involve physics. For example, when we switch on a light, we are using electricity – a branch of physics. When we turn on the tap to get water from the kitchen sink, we are using hydraulics – another branch of physics. In fact, physics is so important that it is sometimes referred to as the “central science” because it integrates and connects other sciences including chemistry, biology, geology, and astronomy. Physics is also essential to many practical applications in our daily lives, such as in the development of new energy sources, medical technologies, and in the designing of more efficient transportation systems.
