DU UG Admissions 2025: Eligibility Criteria Revised For BA (Hons) English Through CUET UG

DU UG Admissions : Delhi University (DU) has updated the eligibility criteria for BA (Hons) English admissions through CUET UG 2025. Aspiring students must now take the English paper in CUET 2025 along with any three subjects from ‘List B’ which includes domain-specific subjects. This change is reflected in the DU admission brochure for the 2025 academic session.

To be eligible for DU BA (Hons) English in 2025, candidates can choose one of two CUET 2025 subject combinations: English (List A) plus any three subjects from List B, or English and another language from List A plus any two subjects from List B. The highest CUET score from either combination will determine the final merit list. The updated eligibility criteria are available on the CSAS portal at admission.uod.ac.in.

“Candidates must appear in CUET in any of the following subject combinations: Combination I: English from List A + Any three subjects from List B or Combination II: English and one Language from List A + Any two subjects from List B. Merit will be based on the best CUET score obtained from any of the above-mentioned combinations of subjects,” reads the official notice.

List of domain-specific subjects revised

DU has also revised its list of domain-specific subjects for undergraduate admissions. List A includes 14 language subjects, such as English, Hindi, and Bengali. List B contains 22 domain-specific subjects, including Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics. However, five subjects, including Legal Studies and Engineering Graphics, have been removed from List B.

DU has announced the availability of BA (Hons) English seats across 47 colleges, with Aryabhatta College’s details yet to be released. The category-wise seat distribution varies across colleges, including prominent institutions like Hindu College and St. Stephen’s College.

Students are advised to check the complete DU UG admissions 2025 brochure and review the new eligibility criteria and subject requirements before applying to BA (Hons) English at DU. They must note that DU will use CUET UG scores for admissions to all its undergraduate programs except for SOL, NCWEB, and foreign applicant categories.
