Delhi University To Introduce One-Year PG Degree From 2026

Delhi University : In line with the National Education Policy, Delhi University (DU) plans to introduce a one-year postgraduate (PG) programme starting in 2026. The draft proposal for this programme will be discussed at an Academic Council meeting on December 27.

The new framework aligns with the Curriculum and Credit Framework for Postgraduate Programmes issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

While some changes have been made to the plan, a few teachers have criticised it, claiming it is being rushed for approval.

  • Earn a certificate after completing the first year.
  • Get a diploma after two years.

  • Receive a degree with honours after completing the fourth year.
