Ghuge is currently serving as the <strong>Acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court<\/strong>. He was appointed to that position after the elevation of former Bombay High Court Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar to the Supreme Court in June 2026. Justice Ghuge was elevated as a judge of the Bombay High Court in June 2013 and has therefore accumulated extensive experience in constitutional, civil, labour and administrative matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Justice_M_C_Tripathi_Recommended_for_Bombay_High_Court\"><\/span>Justice M. He studied law at Lucknow University, graduated in 1990 and enrolled as an advocate in January 1992. His legal practice was primarily focused on civil matters before his elevation to the Allahabad High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Justice_Tripathis_Judicial_Career_and_Experience\"><\/span>Justice Tripathi&#8217;s Judicial Career and Experience<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Justice Tripathi was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on <strong>September 27, 2013<\/strong>, and became a permanent judge on <strong>April 10, 2015<\/strong>. He is among the senior judges of the Allahabad High Court and has also presided over its principal bench at Allahabad. If approved, his appointment will bring his judicial experience to one of India&#8217;s oldest and most important High Courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Justice_Ghuges_Legal_and_Judicial_Background\"><\/span>Justice Ghuge&#8217;s Legal and Judicial Background<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Justice Ghuge completed his legal education in Maharashtra and enrolled as an advocate in 1990. During his early career, he practised before the Bombay High Court and Industrial and Labour Courts, representing workers and trade unions. He later represented numerous industries and private-sector organisations. Reports indicate that <strong>seven of India&#8217;s 25 High Courts<\/strong> were without permanent Chief Justices as of August 10, 2026. Along with Ghuge and Tripathi, the Collegium recommended Justice V.
