The agreement was formalised on <strong>25 February 2026 in New Delhi<\/strong>, marking a fresh chapter in bilateral environmental collaboration between the two neighbouring countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MoU was signed between India\u2019s <strong>Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC)<\/strong> and Nepal\u2019s <strong>Ministry of Forests and Environment<\/strong>. It was executed in the presence of <strong>Union Minister Bhupender Yadav<\/strong> and <strong>Nepal\u2019s Forests and Environment Minister Madhav Prasad Chaulagain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Strengthening_Bilateral_Environmental_Cooperation\"><\/span><strong>Strengthening Bilateral Environmental Cooperation<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At its core, the agreement aims to enhance <strong>bilateral cooperation<\/strong> in areas of ecological importance, especially where <strong>shared ecosystems and transboundary wildlife habitats<\/strong> extend across the India\u2013Nepal border. Protected areas in both countries are home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, many of which migrate across international borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the pact, both countries will work together to restore <strong>transboundary wildlife corridors<\/strong> that enable animals such as elephants, rhinos, tigers and snow leopards to move freely.
