This development is part of India\u2019s broader strategy to expand private participation in the space sector under the vision of <strong>Atmanirbhar Bharat (self\u2011reliant India)<\/strong> and the <strong>Make in India campaign<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state\u2011of\u2011the\u2011art facility\u2014named the <strong>Electro\u2011Optical Payload Factory<\/strong> or <strong>Palmnaro plant<\/strong>\u2014is being established by <strong>Azista Space<\/strong>, an <strong>Indo\u2011German aerospace venture<\/strong> focused on space manufacturing and optical payload technologies. This integrated facility will be capable of <strong>complete end\u2011to\u2011end satellite production<\/strong>, enabling design, component manufacturing, assembly, integration, testing, and qualification under a single roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%F0%9F%9A%80_A_New_Era_in_Space_Manufacturing\"><\/span>\ud83d\ude80 A New Era in Space Manufacturing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>India\u2019s private space sector has historically been dominated by the <strong>Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)<\/strong>. However, with this private manufacturing plant, the dynamics are changing. The Palmnaro facility aims to shift the satellite production ecosystem from a <strong>state\u2011led model<\/strong> to a <strong>private\u2011sector driven one<\/strong>, boosting efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The facility will specialize in <strong>electro\u2011optical payloads<\/strong>, including high\u2011resolution imaging systems, remote sensing instruments, and multispectral cameras\u2014crucial for applications in defence, agriculture, environmental monitoring, and disaster management. This aligns with national policy priorities to support technical talent and bolster India\u2019s position in the global space industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By enabling full lifecycle satellite production within India, the plant will significantly contribute to the <strong>Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative<\/strong>, reinforcing the country\u2019s strategic autonomy in space technology and strengthening
