The high-value deals were inked at <strong>South Block, New Delhi<\/strong>, in the presence of <strong>Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh<\/strong> and involve the acquisition of <strong>Close Quarter Battle (CQB) carbines<\/strong> for the Indian Army and Navy, and <strong>heavyweight torpedoes<\/strong> for the Navy\u2019s submarine fleet. This strategic move aims to enhance India\u2019s combat readiness both on land and underwater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%F0%9F%AA%96_Contract_for_Close_Quarter_Battle_CQB_Carbines\"><\/span>\ud83e\ude96 <strong>Contract for Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Carbines<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the first part of the contract, the MoD has approved <strong>\u20b92,770 crore<\/strong> for procuring <strong>over 4.25 lakh CQB carbines<\/strong>. The procurement will benefit both the <strong>Indian Army<\/strong> and the <strong>Indian Navy<\/strong>. These modern weapons are designed for <strong>close-range combat situations<\/strong>, such as urban warfare, counter-insurgency, and rapid assault operations, where mobility and accuracy are crucial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The carbines will be supplied by <strong>Bharat Forge Ltd<\/strong> and <strong>PLR Systems Pvt Ltd<\/strong>, both Indian companies. It covers the procurement and integration of <strong>48 heavyweight torpedoes<\/strong> along with associated equipment for the <strong>Kalvari-class submarines<\/strong> under <strong>Project-75<\/strong> of the Indian Navy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These advanced torpedoes are crucial for enhancing the <strong>underwater strike capability<\/strong> and operational effectiveness of India\u2019s submarine fleet.
