This unusual form is due to the intense <strong>tidal forces exerted by the pulsar<\/strong> it orbits. A pulsar is a rapidly rotating neutron star left over from a supernova explosion. Because PSR J2322-2650b orbits a pulsar, scientists are considering whether it formed like a normal exoplanet or if it could be the <strong>remnant of a star stripped down by the pulsar\u2019s intense radiation<\/strong> \u2014 part of what scientists call a <strong>\u201cblack widow system.\u201d<\/strong> In such systems, a pulsar\u2019s radiation slowly erodes a companion object over
