He succeeds <strong>Poonam Gupta<\/strong>, who previously led the organisation and went on to become a <strong>Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)<\/strong>. Before this appointment, he served as the <strong>Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)<\/strong> of the <strong>National Highway Infra Trust (NHIT)<\/strong>, a key vehicle to support India\u2019s <strong>National Monetisation Pipeline<\/strong>. It was established in <strong>1956<\/strong> through a <strong>public-private partnership<\/strong> initiated by then-Commerce Minister <strong>T.T. Krishnamachari<\/strong> and industrialist <strong>J.R.D. Tata<\/strong>.
