Treated water is reused for non-potable applications such as HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), landscape irrigation, toilet flushing and other uses. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For landscaping, efficient water-use systems \u2014 such as <strong>sprinkler and drip-irrigation networks<\/strong> \u2014 have been deployed to minimise wastage. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simultaneously, a modern water-treatment plant ensures potable water supply to passengers with minimal wastage. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Official_Recognition_and_Certification\"><\/span>Official Recognition and Certification<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201cwater-positive\u201d certification was formally conferred during the Water Innovation Summit 2025, under the framework of NITI Aayog\u2013Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Water Neutrality standards. DIAL\u2019s CEO, Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, stated that this milestone reflects the airport\u2019s commitment to responsible resource use, environmental stewardship, and a long-term vision to evolve IGI into a net-zero airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Significance_in_the_Larger_Sustainability_Agenda\"><\/span>Significance in the Larger Sustainability Agenda<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IGI\u2019s achievement is not just a one-off infrastructure upgrade \u2014 it marks a trend where large-scale transport hubs in India are rethinking resource management. By prioritizing water conservation, recycling and efficient infrastructure, IGI sets a benchmark for sustainable aviation and climate-resilient infrastructure across India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr
