This comprehensive update comes from the <strong>Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI)<\/strong> and reflects a major methodological overhaul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_the_Base_Year_Is_Being_Updated\"><\/span>Why the Base Year Is Being Updated<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>National account statistics, such as <strong>GDP<\/strong> (Gross Domestic Product) and <strong>GVA<\/strong> (Gross Value Added), rely on a base year to measure real economic growth. Over time, economies undergo structural change \u2014 new sectors emerge, consumption patterns shift, and data sources evolve.  The 2022\u201323 base year is chosen to better capture post-pandemic economic dynamics, including the rise of the digital economy and the gig economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Advisory_Committee_on_Methodology\"><\/span>Advisory Committee on Methodology<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To manage this revision, a <strong>26-member Advisory Committee on National Account Statistics (ACNAS)<\/strong> has been formed, chaired by Prof. B. N. Goldar.
