Nicobar Islands administration. The ship departed from Haddo Wharf at 2100 hrs on 24 October 2025 and returned on 25 October around 1430 hrs, after circumnavigating Barren Island and offering passengers rare views of the active volcano there. <br>Passengers on board the journey were treated to stunning natural panoramas: during the early hours of the voyage they observed the glowing red crest of the island\u2019s volcano, and as dawn broke, they took in the spectacular sunrise over the sea with the volcano in close view.<br>The trip is part of a broader initiative by the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) of the Andaman &amp; Nicobar administration to open up Barren Island for adventure, nature-based and eco-tourism, thereby enhancing the tourism portfolio of the region and generating new opportunities for students, travel-enthusiasts and research-oriented excursions.<br>Further voyages have been scheduled: the next sailings are planned with Sindhu on 14 November 2025 at 2100 hrs, and the vessel Nalanda on 28 November 2025 at the same time.
