under Section 36(A) of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. This move aims to safeguard a critical tiger corridor connecting the Kawal Tiger Reserve in Telangana with the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra. The declaration was made through Government Order No. 49 and encompasses an area of 1,492.88 square kilometers across the Asifabad and Kagaznagar forest divisions in the Komaram Bheem Asifabad district .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%F0%9F%8C%BF_Ecological_Significance\"><\/span>\ud83c\udf3f Ecological Significance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kumram Bheem Conservation Reserve serves as a vital link in the wildlife corridor connecting Kawal Tiger Reserve with Tadoba-Andhari, Kanhargaon, Tipeshwar, and Chaprala Wildlife Sanctuaries in Maharashtra, as well as the Indravati Tiger Reserve in Chhattisgarh. This connectivity is crucial for maintaining genetic diversity and reducing inbreeding among tiger populations. The reserve is also home to other carnivores such as leopards, wild dogs, sloth bears, wolves, hyenas, and jungle cats. Additionally, it supports herbivores like gaur, sambar, nilgai, chital, muntjac, four-horned antelope, and Indian gazelle. Over 240 bird species, including the Malabar Pied Hornbill and Long Billed Vulture, which use the area as their only nesting site, also inhabit the reserve .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%F0%9F%9B%A1%EF%B8%8F_Conservation_Measures\"><\/span>\ud83d\udee1\ufe0f Conservation Measures<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure effective management and protection of the reserve, the Telangana government has constituted a 12-member Conservation Reserve Management Committee. There are also apprehensions about potential displacement and the imposition of curfews on vehicular movement, which could disrupt daily life. Wildlife experts emphasize the importance of involving local communities in conservation efforts to address these concerns and ensure the long-term success of the reserve .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr
