Hold Contemplation classes by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, UGC tells universities

Contemplation classes by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar : Colleges, universities asked to appoint “ Contemplation ministers ” as contact persons for the Art of Living Foundation, which developed the programme in collaboration with the Culture Ministry.

The University Grant Commission( UGC) has asked universities and associated to host sessions on “ contemplation and internal health ” developed by the author of the Art of Living Foundation, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

“ The Advanced Educational Institutions and their combined associated institutions are requested to encourage scholars and faculty members to take benefit of this programme by introducing contemplation as a result for positive internal health, ” UGC secretary Rajnish Jain wrote in a indirect.

The contemplation programme has been developed by the Art of Living Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture as part of the Har Ghar Dhyan( or contemplation in every house) crusade, which is a “ part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark 75 times of Independence and the noble history of people, culture and achievements ”, adds the indirect.


The UGC has also asked associated and universities to appoint “ Contemplation ministers ” who’ll be the contact persons for the Art of Living foundation.

When asked why the programme wasn’t developed by healthcare professionals under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the senior official replied, “ Contemplation involves simple breathing practice. Let us not make it too complicated. The beginning idea is to introduce contemplation to everyone ”.
