CBSE Releases Important Notice On Exam Ethics, Dress Code And Prohibited Items

CBSE : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all affiliated schools to inform the students appearing for the upcoming Class 10th and Class 12th board about examination ethics and the consequences of indulging in unfair practices. The board issued an order on Thursday emphasising the importance of fair conduct to maintain the integrity of the examination process.

The board has reiterated the need for schools to brief students on the “Unfair Means Rules” (UFM), detailing prohibited actions such as the possession and use of electronic devices, including mobile phones, within the examination centre. CBSE has stressed that such violations will result in severe penalties, including the cancellation of both the current and next year’s exams.

CBSE has asked the Principals and school officials to share the UFM guidelines with students and their parents, ensuring they are aware of the penalties for violating examination ethics. Schools have been advised to remind students on the day of the examination to avoid carrying barred items to the exam centre.

It is pertinent to note that if a student possesses any communication devices or spreads rumours then it will be considered an act of unfair means and the student’s exam for the current year and the next year will be cancelled.
