National Credit Framework: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited schools principals for this pilot programme to implement the National Credit Framework (NCrF). The education ministry has approved the NCrF guidelines that have been formulated by a high-level committee in line with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
The board will sort out a pilot project in schools subsidiary to CBSE in Classes 6, 9 and 11 to test, refine, and evaluate the viability of the NCrF rules. ” CBSE will arrange mindfulness meetings, mentorship programs and give direction to taking part schools,” it added. The pilot task will be done in the scholarly meeting 2024-25.
Schools keen on applying for the pilot project in Class 6 should make the participation obligatory. Understudies should get a base 75% in a scholarly meeting. The educational plan of each subject should be isolated according to the hours allocated (1,200 hours every year) in the NCrF rules. Schools need to apportion mark-sheets for last, most important tests, which will reflect credits procured in the scholastic year. The credits procured should be saved in the understudy’s scholarly bank of credit, which will be connected with the APAAR Id and his/her DigiLocker. Understudies can procure full credits after passing a subject after evaluation.
According to the NCrF rules, Class 9 an understudy should pass in five subjects – two dialects and three principal subjects – for procuring the credits. Those in Class 11 need to pass in five subjects – 1 language center and four fundamental subjects/electives. Schools need to guarantee that each subject is dispensed somewhere around 210 hours yearly for example 1,050 hours have been distributed to five obligatory subjects. Schools can dispense 150 hours to subjects of inner Appraisal.
