Major changes have been announced by BPSC for the upcoming BPSC 68th combined competitive exam prelims in 2023. The commission has announced a negative marking scheme for all prelims exam questions and reduced the number of questions in the optional Mains paper.

Additionally, the BPSC has extended the application deadline for the BPSC 68th prelims exam in 2023. Candidates who missed the deadline can still apply for the exam at bpsc.bih.nic.in until December 30.

The BPSC 68th mains exam will now have 100 optional paper questions instead of 300, as announced. In addition, multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be included in the BPSC Mains 2023 exam.

In the past, a select number of questions on the BPSC 68th prelims exam received negative marking. For instance, if 50 out of 150 questions, or l/3 of them, are chosen for negative marking, then l/3 of the questions from each section must be chosen.

The answer to these particular questions should earn two marks for being correct and two marks for being wrong. On the other hand, the negative marking will now be distributed uniformly across all 150 questions. One mark will be given for each correct response, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.

The new marking scheme for the BPSC Mains 2023 exam can be found in the table below, and it is available to candidates. Candidates must pass the optional paper in order to be shortlisted under the new changes.
