BHU : Banaras Hindu University (BHU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Competitiveness Mindset Institute – India to train students on ethical leadership.
The Finding Leader in You Scholar (FLY Scholar) programme is an initiative that has significantly benefited hundreds of students of the university, BHU claims.
Since the program’s inception at BHU, over 1300 students have received FLY training over the past one and a half years. According to a press release issued by BHU, the training, which is being carried out in conjunction with the Competitiveness Mindset Institute, “aims to foster a new generation of leaders who are not only skilled and knowledgeable but also deeply committed to ethical principles and social responsibility.”
As a component of the comprehension, the organization will educate and fabricate the Huge Five Seriousness non-mental abilities to understudies to further develop viability and execution in class and in the work environment. The institute hopes that this training will help them acquire a competitive mindset and lay the groundwork for ethical leadership, improving their employability.
Over the next three years, students will also receive training to improve their advanced communication skills as part of the MoU.
Participants were given a number of tasks throughout the day-long program, such as defining the problems, identifying various issues and challenges they consider to be potential problems, and taking steps to address the issues. The activities also included evaluating the scenarios in which actions were taken and those in which none were taken. As they considered the various challenges they face on a daily basis, senior university members offered insightful comments.
For the academic year 2024–2025, BHU has already launched the FLY training program across all faculties. With 120 participants, three cohorts are currently underway at Mahila Mahavidyalaya, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the College of Nursing. The Institute of Management Studies’ 110 student batches have already completed their training. According to Prof. Lalita Vatta, the university’s Coordinator for FLY Programs, three batches of nearly 120 Institute of Agricultural Sciences students will receive training from August 4 to 7.
