Assam Board Class 11 Exams 2025 Cancelled Following Paper Leak

Assam Board:The Assam state board has cancelled all the class 11 examinations scheduled from March 24 to 29, covering 36 subjects due to reports of paper leaks at various locations, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has announced. Earlier, the Higher Secondary first-year Mathematics exam scheduled for March 21 was leaked which prompted the authorities to cancel the exams and file a police complaint.

The Class 11 examinations, which began on March 6, were earlier set to continue until March 29. “Due to question paper leaks and breaches of protocol, the remaining HS First Year exams scheduled from March 24-29 are cancelled,” Pegu stated on the microblogging site X.

The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has also suspended the affiliation of 15 private schools across 10 districts for breaking the seal of class 11 Mathematics question papers before the scheduled time, the minister has further informed. “State Govt will take action against 3 provincialised school for violating the rules in similar manner. FIRs are being lodged, and these schools are barred from admitting Class XI students for 2025–26,” the minister has stated on X.

The minister emphasised that the Mathematics paper leak happened after 18 schools, including three government institutions, broke the security seal a day before the exam, PTI reported. Police complaints will be lodged, and these schools are banned from enrolling Class 11 students for the 2025-26 academic year, Pegu mentioned.

As per the ASSEB order issued by Controller of Examinations (in-charge) Ranjan Kumar Das, all school inspectors and principals of lead colleges have returned the sealed Mathematics question paper packets following the cancellation.
