Around 50 experts from Pune are among the world’s top 2% of scientists on the list

As per the recently released Stanford University Rankings 2022, around 50 experts from Pune have found a place in the world’s top 2% scientists list.

The rankings were released on the basis of a study conducted by Stanford University in California, USA. A total of 6,216 scientists from across the world have been included in the list.

The study was based on the number of research papers published by scientists, their citation records and the number of times their work has been used by others in the field.

Experts from Pune who have made it to the list include Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Former Director General of CSIR, Dr. Anil Gupta, Founder of Honey Bee Network, Dr. Rakesh Mohan, Former RBI Deputy Governor, Dr. Dinesh Abrol, Director of National Chemical Laboratory and Dr. Ravi Sinha, Director of Symbiosis International University.

The inclusion of these experts from Pune in the world’s top 2% scientists list is a reflection of the city’s growing reputation as a hub for research and development. Pune is home to many premier educational institutions and research centres which are attracting talent from all over the world.

The Stanford University Rankings 2022 is sure to give a boost to Pune’s reputation as a key destination for research and development.
