University of Ladakh: Lieutenant-governor brigadier (retd) BD Mishra has decided to set up an agriculture department in the University of Ladakh and transfer various units of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) to it, an official said on Saturday.
Mishra took the choice at a gathering met at Raj Niwas here to examine the giving of resources of SKUAST, an authority representative said. According to the spokesperson, the L-G made the decision to establish the full-fledged agriculture department at the University of Ladakh under the affiliation of SKUAST Kashmir.
Mishra additionally concluded that different SKUAST units in Ladakh would be moved to the farming division of the College of Ladakh. He coordinated the Bad habit Chancellor (VC) of College of Ladakh, SK Mehta to assist the most common way of making the agribusiness division. Magistrate secretary, advanced education, Ladakh, Padma Angmo recommended that SKUAST ought to give up the resources as well as the presents on the organization of Ladakh.
SKUAST Kashmir VC Nazir Ahmad Ganai informed the gathering about the college and its presence in the association domain. He said two examination foundations, two Krishi Vigyan Kendras and six SKUAST units were laid out in Ladakh during the recent province of Jammu and Kashmir.
Gania said 45 non-specialized posts are lying empty in six units of the college and are saved for the occupants of Ladakh. The spokesperson stated that the Agriculture Department of Ladakh University will acquire the assets of SKUAST-Kashmir when it becomes fully operational.
