ABVP demands adoption of UGC NET scores for PhD admissions in Allahabad University

Allahabad University: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) unit of Allahabad University has demanded the withdrawal of level-1 requirement in the Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) of the university and the adoption of UGC NET scores for admission into its PhD programmes.

In a new order the College Awards Commission (UGC), has permitted the colleges to direct entrance into PhD programs utilizing UGC NET scores. Allahabad College conducts admission to its PhD programs through the CRET. The understudies’ association encouraged for brief execution of the UGC rules by Allahabad College from the impending meeting.

The ABVP said that the new rules with respect to the PhD confirmation process are basic as well as straightforward. It added that the UGC has determined that for PhD confirmations through NET, the UGC NET scores will represent 70% of legitimacy appraisal for applicants applying in classifications 2 and 3.
